• ensure clear access and a place to park near the work area

• put pets away and remove fragile items from borders and nearby surfaces

• point out boundaries, buried services and any plants you want retained

• confirm disposal method and any council permit or skip access required

• agree payment terms, start time and who to contact if nesting birds or pests are found
