Scope of Works

• Assess hedge condition and any bird nests or wildlife before work

• Trim and shape hedges to agreed height using powered trimmers and hand tools as needed

• Mow lawn to an agreed height, strim edges and remove grass cuttings from paths and drives

• Collect and bag or load green waste for disposal or council collection depending on agreement

• Tidy surrounding areas, sweep paths and check for damage to lawns, borders and fixtures

• Wear PPE and take precautions around cables, irrigation systems and fragile plants

Most small front or back gardens 1–2 hours; medium gardens 2–4 hours; large or overgrown jobs half a day–full day. Factors that extend time include hedge height and length, difficult access or narrow gates, large volumes of cuttings to remove, wet/slippery ground, and protected nesting birds

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Do you have public liability insurance and can you provide proof

• Is disposal of green waste included or charged extra and how will it be removed

• Will you check for nesting birds and delay or adapt work if needed

• What equipment will you use and do you need access to an outdoor power supply

• Can you provide a written quote with start and completion times

• Do you need parking close to the property and will you need to block driveways

How to Avoid Surprises

• Ensure gates are unlocked and paths clear for access

• Tell the tradie about delicate plants, buried irrigation and overhead cables

• Arrange parking or permits near the property for their van

• Keep pets indoors and mark any hidden hazards such as ponds or holes

• Agree disposal method in advance so there are no surprise charges
