Scope of Works

• Assess hedge condition, measure length and height

• Trim sides and top to agreed height and shape

• Prune out dead wood and thin overcrowded areas

• Reduce overgrown sections where agreed (crown reduction)

• Chip or bundle cuttings and clear paths and driveways as required

• Remove arisings from site or load them for disposal as agreed

• Check for nesting birds and avoid protected activity where necessary

Most domestic hedge trims take 1–3 hours depending on length and height; larger or taller hedges can take a half to a full day and may need extra safety measures

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Do you carry public liability insurance and what level of cover do you have?

• Can you confirm exactly what work is included and any exclusions?

• How will you check for nesting birds and defer work if necessary?

• Is waste removal included or will there be a separate charge for disposal?

• Will you need ladders, scaffolding or a cherry picker and what would that cost?

• Do you provide a written quote with start date, payment terms and cancellation policy?

How to Avoid Surprises

• Confirm access, gate width and parking for the van

• Agree exact height and shape in writing before work starts

• Tell the tradie about boundary ownership or neighbour agreements

• Mention nesting birds or protected wildlife before booking

• Clear obstructions and secure pets on the day
