Scope of Works

• mow lawn to an agreed height using push or ride-on mower depending on size

• trim and mechanically or hand-edge lawns for a neat boundary

• strim around borders, paths, fences and obstacles

• weed and tidy borders including light thinning of perennials and removal of invasive plants

• prune small shrubs and low hedging to shape (not large trees or high hedges unless agreed)

• collect and remove green waste or leave cuttings in agreed location for client to handle

Most routine lawn and border maintenance visits take 1–3 hours depending on lawn area and number of borders; factors that extend this are overgrown lawns, wet ground, multiple operatives required, or added tasks such as turfing or heavy clearance

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• are you insured and do you carry public liability cover

• will the same person attend each visit and who supervises a larger crew

• how do you handle green waste disposal and is there a charge for van loads

• do you use herbicides or feeds and can you confirm the products and precautions

• what protection will you use to avoid damage to borders, pots and drainage covers

• can you provide a written quote, expected start date and accepted payment methods

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access to the garden and leave gates unlocked or provide a key

• book parking close by or confirm a space for the tradie's van

• point out any underground sprinklers, cables, paving or fragile planting before work starts

• secure pets and remove toys and garden furniture from the work area

• check communal or estate rules for working hours, parking and disposal requirements
