Scope of Works

• Inspect lawn and boundary to confirm access and existing edging

• Mark and measure the edge line to an agreed layout

• Cut back turf and vegetation, remove roots and prepare a firm trench

• Install chosen edging (steel, timber, stone or block) and fix to agreed height

• Backfill, compact, replace turf or top up soil and finish level

• Collect and remove arisings, rake and leave area tidy; team to wear appropriate PPE when using powered tools

Time on Site

Most small front or back lawns take 2–4 hours; larger or more complex jobs can take 1–2 days. Factors that extend time include very long grass, compacted soil, tree roots, long perimeter runs, need for machine hire, and poor weather. Operatives will wear PPE and may need access to power and water for some equipment.

• Where will you park and is there a call‑out fee

• Do you supply and fit the edging material I want and can you show samples

• Will you remove green waste and what is the disposal charge

• How many operatives and how long do you expect the job to take

• Do you need any permits or neighbour access for boundaries

• What guarantees or aftercare do you provide on turfing and edging

How to Avoid Surprises

• Confirm access width, parking and any permits the day before

• Agree exact edging material, height and finish in writing

• Tell the tradie about buried services, irrigation or large roots before work starts

• Arrange children and pets to be kept well away from the work area

• Check whether waste removal is included or if you need to provide bins
