Scope of Works

• Site walk‑through & debris removal – clear stones, toys and branches before machinery starts.

• Set cutting height & mow lawn in overlapping passes; adjust for emergency overgrowth if needed.

• Trim edges & borders with a strimmer or edging shears; prune light shrub overhangs where specified.

• Rake/blow clippings, bag or mulch and load green waste for disposal or composting.

• Final tidy‑up of hard surfaces – sweep patios, driveways and paths; leave site hazard‑free.

• Optional extras – scarifying, ride‑on mowing for large plots, same‑day emergency visit.

Time on Site

• Typical: 1 – 2 hours for a 150‑200 m² lawn with edging.

• Half‑day: wet or knee‑high grass needing double cuts, heavy leaf clearance, or awkward access.

• Full day: large estates, ride‑on mowing patterns, hedge pruning add‑ons, or disposal runs to tip.

1. What cutting height will you set and can you vary it seasonally?

2. Is disposal of clippings included and how many bags before extra charges apply?

3. Do you charge hourly or by plot size, and what is the minimum fee?

4. What equipment do you use (self‑propelled, battery, ride‑on) and how noisy is it?

5. How do you prevent lawn scalping on slopes or uneven ground?

6. Are emergency/one‑off visits priced differently from scheduled cuts?

7. Can you show proof of insurance covering machinery damage and public liability?

• Access & parking: reserve a spot close to the lawn gate for van and mower ramp.

• Power/charging point: offer an outdoor socket if contractor runs battery tools.

• Green‑waste bins: check council garden‑waste schemes or book tip permits.

• Pet mess & sprinklers: clear lawns and switch irrigation off 24 h before visit.

• Wet‑weather buffer: agree a reschedule policy—damp grass clogs mowers and leaves ruts.
