• Are you insured and can you provide public liability cover

• How many gardeners will attend and what equipment will you bring

• Do you include green waste disposal or leave cuttings on site

• Can you advise on moss, turf repair or weed treatments and the additional costs

• Will pruning be a maintenance tidy or a reduction and can you show a plan

• What is your cancellation or wet‑weather policy and how are extras charged

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access to the garden and a nearby storage spot for mowers

• reserve on‑street parking or tell the tradesperson about parking restrictions

• secure pets and keep children away from the work area

• point out boundaries, buried services and any protected trees before work starts

• confirm whether cuttings will be taken away, composted on site or left in a designated area
