Scope of Works

• survey site access, lifting route and floor loading requirements

• isolate and drain utilities (electrical, gas, hydraulic, refrigeration) prior to move

• disconnect plant from services and label pipework and cables

• rig and lift plant using pallet trucks or crane as required and place on new base

• reconnect and test electrical, pipework and controls and carry out commissioning checks

• make good supports, fit antivibration mounts and remove waste and contaminants safely

Most single‑unit relocations take 4–8 hours on site; complex or multi‑unit moves requiring crane, traffic management or specialist reconnections typically take 1–3 days. factors that extend time include restricted access, permit waits, waiting for specialist plant or delayed parts.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• have you moved this model or similar plant before and can you supply references

• are you insured for lifting and plant damage and can you confirm cover limits

• will you provide a method statement and risk assessment for the move

• who will disconnect and reconnect electrics/gas/refrigerants and do they hold the relevant certificates

• do you arrange crane/scaffold/traffic management and any permits, and how is that charged

• what testing and handover documentation will I receive after commissioning

How to Avoid Surprises

• check doorways, lifts, stairs and route clearances and send measurements to the tradie

• reserve parking and loading space for crane or vans and arrange any council permits in advance

• confirm who will isolate and re‑energise utilities and book required shutdown windows before the day

• declare hazardous contents (oil, refrigerant, asbestos risk) so correct PPE and disposal are arranged

• ensure a site contact is available with keys/access fobs and that building manager permissions are confirmed
