Scope of Works

• Prune and reduce height to the agreed size and shape

• Remove dead wood and tidy crossing branches

• Cuttings collected and loaded for disposal unless you arrange otherwise

• Use of appropriate PPE and safe operation of hand and powered tools

Typical duration: small front garden 1–2 hours, medium garden 2–4 hours, larger gardens or jobs requiring stump grinding 4–8 hours. Factors that extend time include dense or overgrown shrubs, nesting checks, restricted access, extra waste removal and poor weather.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Do you include green waste removal or is that extra?

• Do you check for nesting birds and follow wildlife regulations?

• What machinery will you use and will that affect neighbours (noise, access)?

• Are you insured for public liability and accidental damage?

• Can you provide a written quote and confirm any extra charges (chipper, stump grinding)?

• Will you tidy up and leave the site swept or will debris remain?

How to Avoid Surprises

• Clear access routes and move cars or obstacles before arrival

• Point out water taps and power if you can provide electric tools

• Tell the trader about boundaries, underground services and any restrictions

• Check and agree where cuttings will be left or taken and any disposal fees

• Mention pets, neighbours and any access limits for large vans or chippers

• Confirm nesting season considerations if work falls in spring
