Scope of Works

• Remove existing shrub including rootball where required

• prepare planting hole and improve backfill with compost or soil conditioner as agreed

• plant replacement shrub(s), stake and tie where necessary, and apply mulch

• lift and restore surrounding turf or edging as required

• remove plant waste and dispose or compost offsite as agreed

• follow basic biosecurity for diseased or invasive material and wear PPE where needed

Most small shrub replanting jobs take 1–3 hours for a single plant or small border; larger shrubs, multiple plants or jobs needing root removal can take a full day

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• where will you source the replacement shrubs and what sizes will they be?

• do you include rootball removal and stump grinding if needed, or is that extra?

• what aftercare or watering schedule do you recommend and is follow-up included?

• how will you handle diseased or invasive material and do you use PPE?

• is disposal included and where will green waste be left or taken?

• what could change the price on the day (access, hidden roots, drainage issues)?

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access and a nearby parking space for tools and plants

• mark any underground services and tell your tradie about drainage or recent utility works

• have a water source available for planting and immediate watering

• confirm where waste will be left and whether you want it removed or composted onsite

• secure pets and tell the tradie about access restrictions or neighbours' boundaries
