• will you need planning consent or a tree preservation order check?

• how will you deal with arisings and is disposal included in the quote?

• will you use contractors or a two‑person team and who will be on site?

• what safety measures will you use and will the area be cordoned off?

• move garden furniture and secure pets and children

• mark underground services and show any hidden access restrictions

• agree a written quote outlining disposal, stump work and extras

• check for protected trees and get any required permissions

• confirm start time, payment terms and contact on the day
