Scope of Works

• Inspect site and assess tree and hedge size, condition, root position and access

• Dismantle trees section by section using ropes and rigging where required

• Hedge cutting and removal using chainsaws and hand tools to specified height and shape

• Stump grinding or marked stump retention if requested (quoted separately if needed)

• Chip arisings on site and remove waste or load to skip for disposal depending on agreement

• Protect nearby structures, fences and lawns, and carry out a site tidy and final inspection

Small hedge trimming typically takes 1–3 hours, a single small tree dismantle half a day, medium trees 1 day and large or difficult-access trees 1–3 days; times increase with poor access, restricted parking, need for a crane or traffic management and the team will use PPE and exclusion zones throughout

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Are you insured (public liability and employer's liability) and can you supply certificates

• What qualifications and experience do your team have (NPTC, City & Guilds or equivalent)

• Will you grind the stump, and is stump grinding included in the quote

• How will you protect nearby buildings, fences and gardens and who signs off site protection

• How will waste be disposed of and will I receive a waste transfer note

• Do you need any permits, road closures or traffic management and who arranges these

How to Avoid Surprises

• Clear access and move vehicles from drives or the road on the day

• Tell the tradie about underground services, septic tanks or hidden hazards before work starts

• Reserve parking or supply access permits if street parking is restricted

• Agree stump grinding, disposal method and where arisings may be left before work starts

• Check shared boundary rules and tell neighbours if work will affect fences or shared access
