Scope of Works

• survey site and identify stump sizes, bamboo clump extent and nearby structures or services

• stump grinding to below ground level and removal of grindings where requested

• excavate and remove bamboo rhizomes as required and advise on installing rhizome barrier

• haul away arisings and dispose of green waste or take to approved tips

• backfill holes with topsoil and compact; supply turf or seed as an extra if requested

• apply approved herbicide where appropriate and follow PPE and safety procedures

• locate underground services before digging and take precautions near drains, fences and buildings

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• have you removed bamboo before and can you provide before/after photos or references

• will you grind the stump only or remove roots and rhizomes, and what guarantee do you offer against regrowth

• how will you dispose of arisings and do you have a waste carrier licence

• do you carry public liability insurance and will you locate underground services before work

• what reinstatement is included and what extra charges apply for topsoil, turf or heavy machinery

• will you use herbicide and what safety measures and follow-up visits are needed

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access and parking for vans or a mini-digger and tell the trader about gates or steps

• mark boundaries and notify neighbours if work is close to fences or shared areas

• check if permits or building restrictions apply for large plant or working on adopted land

• confirm where spoil will be left or removed and whether additional disposal charges apply

• secure pets and remove fragile items from the work area
