Scope of Works

• inspect garden and identify weed species, invasive plants and problem areas

• treat weeds using targeted methods and approved products, wearing PPE where required

• trim, shape and reduce overgrown shrubs, remove dead wood and thin heavy growth

• clear and tidy borders, paths and planting beds, and collect arisings for removal

• apply mulch or weed suppressant in treated areas if requested and advise on follow‑up

Time on Site

Small front garden 1–3 hours; medium back garden 3–6 hours; larger or heavily overgrown sites 1–2 days. Factors that extend time include dense ivy, inaccessible shrubs, protected plants, poor access and adverse weather.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• can you show public liability insurance and a waste carrier licence if removing arisings

• what products do you plan to use and are they safe for pets and wildlife

• how will you dispose of cuttings and is removal included in the quote

• how many operatives will attend and what time will you start

• will you prune any trees or are any protected species involved that require consent

• are there additional costs for difficult access, steep slopes or extended disposal

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access and reserve parking or let the tradie use the drive

• move cars, children’s toys and protect delicate plants or borders

• tell the tradie about buried services, irrigation systems or hidden drains

• agree waste removal method, where arisings will be left and any extra charges

• check communal or conservation area rules and notify neighbours if works affect shared space
