Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you use herbicide, mechanical removal or both and can you explain the pros and cons

• is disposal included and do you hold a waste carrier licence for larger loads

• are you insured for third‑party damage and public liability

• will you protect or avoid desirable plants and how will you mark treated areas

• does the quote include VAT and any contingency for hidden roots or joint repairs

• how long before treated areas are safe for children and pets

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access and agreed parking close to the work area

• move vehicles and clear obstacles from paths and patios before arrival

• mark any plants you want to keep and tell the tradie about boundary plants

• if herbicide is likely, warn neighbours and keep children and pets away for the advised period

• confirm who removes waste and where it will be taken to avoid unexpected fees
