Scope of Works

• Mow lawn and trim edges with appropriate mower depending on lawn size

• Hand-weed beds and treat persistent weeds by agreement

• Trim and shape hedges, remove arisings and tidy hedge lines

• Strim inaccessible grass, clear paths and tidy borders

• Collect and remove green waste or leave bagged arisings for client

• Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, eye protection); avoid disturbing nesting birds or pollinators

Most standard mowing, weeding and hedge-cutting jobs for a typical suburban front or back garden take 1–3 hours; larger gardens or heavily overgrown hedges can take 4–8 hours or more. Factors that extend time include dense overgrowth, awkward access, wet weather, nesting bird protection and separate green waste collection

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Do you charge a call‑out fee or minimum visit cost?

• Are disposal and green waste removal included or charged separately?

• Will you use herbicide or chemical treatments and can I opt out?

• Do you have public liability insurance and can I see evidence?

• How many people and what equipment will you bring for my hedge job?

• Can you provide references or before-and-after photos from similar jobs?

How to Avoid Surprises

• Give clear access to the garden gate and move vehicles from the driveway

• Tell the tradesperson about nesting birds, bee hives or protected plants

• Confirm parking or a place to unload tools near the property

• Make sure small ornaments are cleared and mark any underground services

• Secure pets inside or away from the work area and warn of any local hazards like ticks
