Scope of Works

• Inspect garden and access to identify overgrown areas and priority beds

• hand-weed beds and borders, removing roots and seed heads where possible

• trim back perennials, low hedging and shrubs to tidy shape and reduce bulk

• strim or edge grass margins and clear moss or weed growth from paths and patios

• collect, bag and remove green waste or leave for client to compost depending on agreement

• wear appropriate PPE and note any contaminated soil, chemical treatment or pest issues for follow-up

Typical visits take 1–4 hours for a single gardener on a small to medium garden; larger or very overgrown sites can take a full day or multiple visits, extended by dense weeds, tall hedges, restricted access or the need to hire machinery

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you include disposal in the quote or is that extra

• will you use herbicide on persistent weeds and can you provide material safety details

• are you insured and do you have public liability cover for working on my property

• how many people will attend and what equipment will you bring

• will you protect borders, young plants and lawn edges while trimming

• do you need water/electricity on site or a nearby parking space for a trailer

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear access routes and let the tradie know of narrow gates or steps

• reserve parking or a loading space close to the garden for tools and green waste

• point out buried services, water taps and fragile plants before work starts

• tell the tradie about pets, children or neighbours who may be affected during work

• check if permission is needed for conservation area trees or tall hedges and arrange any permits
