Questions to Ask Your Tradie

  1. Are you Part P registered (or Gas Safe, if capping gas) and will you issue the relevant certificate?

  2. Is removal and WEEE recycling of the old oven included in the quote?

  3. Will the existing circuit and isolation switch meet the new oven’s kW rating, or will cabling/breakers be upgraded?

  4. Do you supply new mounting screws, trims and a metal cooker-control plate?

  5. How will you protect floors, work-tops and adjacent cabinets during installation?

  6. What workmanship warranty do you provide, and does it match the appliance guarantee?

  7. Are parking, congestion or evening/weekend surcharges already factored into the price?

How to Avoid Surprises

  • Access & Parking: Measure doorways and stairs; reserve a parking bay close to the kitchen.

  • Isolation: Test cooker-control switch and circuit breaker before the installer arrives.

  • Cabinet Dimensions: Confirm niche height/width against the new oven’s datasheet.

  • Ventilation: Keep the room ventilated for the initial burn-off cycle.

  • Power Capacity: Check consumer-unit spare capacity if the appliance draws >3 kW.

  • Disposal Prep: Empty and clean the old oven to avoid mess when it’s removed.
