Scope of Works

• isolate power and water and confirm safe working conditions; use PPE and contain any water spillage

• inspect door seal, drum, hoses and inlet valve for wear, blockages and leaks

• clean detergent drawer and pump filter, remove lint and foreign objects

• run diagnostic cycles, read fault codes and test heater, motor and sensors

• replace or refit agreed parts such as seals, hoses, filters or pumps

• provide advice on limescale, detergent use and whether further repairs are needed

Most routine services take 45 minutes–2 hours. Fault diagnosis and parts replacement can extend time to 2–4 hours or require a follow-up visit if parts must be ordered.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• will you perform a full service or only diagnostic work?

• what is the call-out charge and the hourly labour rate beyond the minimum?

• do you carry common replacement parts for my make and model or will you need to order them?

• what warranty do you provide on parts and labour?

• if you can’t finish the repair today, will there be an additional visit charge?

• how do you handle disposal of replaced parts or a whole machine and is there an extra fee?

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear space around the machine and remove stored items

• have the machine model and serial number and purchase or installation date to hand

• provide parking or access details if on-street or in a restricted area

• turn off power and water supply if it is safe to do so before the visit

• tell the tradie about previous faults, leaks or mould and keep pets away during the visit

• check whether common parts are carried or if a return visit will be needed
