Scope of Works

• inspect the washer‑dryer to identify fault codes, leaks, unusual noises and visible wear

• check electrical supply, fuses and wiring continuity and isolate power before testing

• examine and clean filters, pump and drain hose and remove lint or blockages safely

• test heating element, thermostat, motor and sensors using diagnostic tools

• replace common parts on site if available (belts, pumps, seals, thermostats) and fit spares where needed

• reassemble, run a test cycle and advise on any follow‑up work or parts ordering

Most diagnostics take 30–60 minutes; simple fixes 1–2 hours; major component replacements 2–4 hours. delays occur if parts need ordering, access to vents or the roof is required, or if stacked/built‑in units need dismantling

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you charge a diagnostic fee or is it included in the call‑out

• have you repaired this brand/model before and can you supply examples or references

• can you get parts same day and what warranties do parts and labour have

• are you qualified to work on appliance electrics and will you complete safety checks after repair

• will you clear and clean filters/drains as part of the job and how do you handle lint/water contamination (PPE)

• how will you charge if the repair takes longer or requires a return visit

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear a 1–2m working area and remove laundry from the machine

• make sure power, water and drain are accessible and point out stacked or built‑in units in advance

• provide model number and any error codes or photos before the visit to speed diagnosis

• check parking, entry times and any communal laundry rules for flats

• ask about working‑at‑height or building permits if external vents or roof access may be required and expect PPE use
