• isolate and safely disconnect fridge power before accessing control housing

• test thermostat sensor, capillary or wiring for continuity and correct resistance

• replace faulty thermostat or sensor with a matched part and secure connections

• run temperature cycles and recalibrate settings to confirm the fridge holds correct temperatures

• advise if the fault is with the control board, compressor or requires refrigerant work and recommend next steps

Most straightforward diagnoses and simple thermostat replacements take 30 minutes–1.5 hours; if parts need ordering, the control board is at fault or access is difficult expect 2–4 hours or a return visit

• do you carry replacement thermostats or sensors for my fridge make and model

• how do you charge for diagnosis versus repair and is call-out included in the price shown

• what warranty do you provide on parts and labour

• will you isolate the appliance electrically and use PPE when working inside the control housing

• could this require control board or refrigerant work and do you have F-gas certification if refrigerant is involved

• how long will you need on site and will any follow-up visit incur extra call-out charges

How to Avoid Surprises

• ensure clear access to the back and rear panels of the fridge and remove stored items where possible

• confirm parking or drop-off arrangements for the tradesperson to avoid travel surcharges

• check whether parts for your model are commonly stocked or if ordering will add delay

• notify the tradesperson of building access rules, flat entry codes or parking permits before the appointment

• keep pets away from the work area and ensure mains supply can be isolated if requested
