Scope of Works

• Inspect and test the vacuum unplugged to confirm a switch fault

• isolate and remove the power lead and open the casing to access the switch

• clean contacts and test continuity; repair or replace the switch module as needed

• fit a like-for-like replacement switch or compatible module and secure wiring

• reassemble the cleaner and run performance and safety tests including motor run

• advise on warranty, further costs if motor or pcb faults are found, and dispose of faulty switch

Most vacuum switch repairs take 30–90 minutes on site for diagnosis, removal and fitting; time increases if a replacement part must be ordered, the motor or pcb is corroded, or multiple faults are present

• what is your call-out fee and is any diagnostic charge refundable against the repair?

• do you guarantee the repair and for how long?

• will you test the vacuum fully and show it running before you leave?

• have the vacuum model and serial number ready

• unplug the machine and clear a workspace with good lighting

• ensure parking or a drop-off space for the tradesperson's van

• keep pets away and protect soft furnishings from dust

• confirm any building or communal access rules and whether a permit is needed

• ask if parts will need ordering and whether return visits incur extra call-out fees
