Scope of Works

• Inspect and diagnose the belt, pulleys and motor coupling to confirm belt failure

• isolate power and water supply before opening the machine

• remove access panels and any obstructing cabinetry as required to reach the belt

• fit a suitable replacement belt and replace worn pulleys or couplings if needed

• test a rinse/spin cycle to confirm correct operation and tidy the work area

Typically 30–90 minutes for a straightforward belt replacement; extended times occur if the drum must be removed, parts need ordering, the machine is built into cabinetry, or there are access constraints

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• Is the belt replacement charged as a fixed price and does that include the part

• Will you use a new OEM belt or an aftermarket alternative and do you guarantee the part

• If you find additional faults (pump, pulley, motor coupling), how will you get approval for extra costs

• Do you test the machine after repair and offer a written warranty for labour

• Will you need to move the machine or remove surrounding cabinetry and is there an extra charge

• Are you insured and can you provide proof of public liability cover

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear the area around the machine and remove clothing from drum

• ensure easy access to the mains socket and isolating tap

• note the machine model number and have it to hand for parts checks

• arrange parking nearby and tell the tradie about access restrictions or gated blocks

• secure pets and inform the engineer of any water spill or contamination concerns
