Scope of Works

• Inspect pedal mechanism and foot switch for wear or damage

• test the pedal switch and any safety interlocks with the machine isolated

• remove and replace worn springs, levers, switches or the complete pedal assembly if needed

• clean out debris and contamination around the pedal and lubricate moving parts where appropriate

• reassemble and function-test the cleaner, including a basic operational check of drive and switch

• advise if motor, gearbox or major components need replacement and provide a separate quote

Most pedal repairs take 30–90 minutes on site for diagnosis, parts swap and testing; simple switch replacements can be 15–30 minutes while full pedal assembly changes take 45–90 minutes and may need a return visit if parts are not carried

• will you give a written estimate and call me before ordering or fitting expensive parts

• what is your call-out fee and how do you charge for additional labour or return visits

• do you test electrical safety after repair and include that in the price

• what warranty do you provide on parts and labour

How to Avoid Surprises

• have the cleaner accessible with empty tanks and clear floor space for testing

• tell the tradie the make, model and age of the cleaner and any fault history before the visit

• arrange suitable parking or drop-off close to the property if the tradie needs to bring parts or tools

• flag access constraints such as stairs, narrow halls or building rules for communal blocks

• mention pets and request the tradie bring PPE if the machine is heavily soiled or contaminated

• agree whether parts are replaced on the spot or after approval to avoid unexpected charges
