Scope of Works

• isolate water and power then run a controlled test to locate the leak source

• inspect inlet and drain hoses, hose clamps, door seal (front‑loader) and back valve

• check pump, internal seals and dispenser tray for blockages or cracks

• remove the machine from alcove if needed to access rear hose connections and drain points

• replace worn hoses, clamps, seals or pump where necessary and re‑test for leaks

• advise on water damage or required further work and provide a written quote for larger repairs

Most leak diagnostics and minor repairs take 1–3 hours including a test run and tidy up. Time increases if the machine is in a tight alcove, cabinetry must be removed, parts need ordering, there is water damage to the floor, or access in a communal block is restricted.

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• What is your call‑out fee and will it be deducted from the final bill?

• do you carry common parts such as inlet/drain hoses, clamps and pumps?

• will you isolate the water and electrical supply before starting work?

• what guarantee do you provide on the repair and parts?

• if you cannot fix it on the day what are the next steps and likely additional costs?

• are you insured for accidental water damage to floors or neighbouring properties?

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear the area around the machine and move valuables off adjacent surfaces

• provide easy access to the stopcock, drain point and a nearby socket

• tell the tradie about machine age, make/model and any previous repairs

• arrange parking or access codes in advance and note any site rules for communal blocks

• move pets away and protect flooring with towels or trays to manage any drips

• ask about likely part lead times for older machines so you can agree next steps
