Scope of Works

• inspect the door seal/gasket for tears, deformation, mould and trapped debris

• pull the machine forward or remove the front panel if needed to access the seal and drum area

• remove the old gasket, clean the seal seating and remove mould/contamination using PPE

• fit a manufacturer-specific or compatible replacement seal and secure any retaining clips or bands

• run a short test cycle to check for leaks and inspect door latch alignment

• advise on further repairs or part replacements if the tub, door or collar is damaged

Most single-seal replacements take 45 minutes–2 hours on site; jobs extend to several days if a non-stock part must be ordered or if there is drum or door damage requiring further work

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you carry seals for my machine make and model or will one need ordering

• what is included in the call‑out fee and is there a separate diagnostic charge

• what warranty do you offer on parts and labour for the new seal

• will you test the machine after fitting and check for residual mould or contamination issues

• do you require the machine to be unplugged or the water turned off before arrival

• approximate lead time for parts if the correct seal is not in stock

How to Avoid Surprises

• have the machine make, model and serial number to hand

• clear the area around the machine and remove laundry and loose items

• confirm parking or building access arrangements if the engineer needs close vehicle access

• tell the engineer about pets or restrictions in the property

• ask if PPE is used and how contaminated seals and mouldy materials will be handled and disposed of
