Scope of Works

• carry out visual inspection and fault diagnosis including temperature readings and error codes

• check door seals, hinges and alignment and replace faulty gasket if required

• test defrost system, thermostat, fans and evaporator for faults

• assess compressor, start relay and refrigerant system and advise if recharge or replacement needed

• replace small components on site (thermostat, fan motor, door seal, control board) if parts available

• provide written quote for major repairs such as compressor replacement and explain warranty and safety steps

A typical diagnostic visit takes 45–90 minutes; simple part replacements are often completed in 1–2 hours; major jobs such as compressor replacement or refrigerant recovery can take several hours or require a return visit for parts and specialist recovery

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• what experience do you have with this fridge make and model

• are you F‑Gas certified for refrigerant work and insured for appliance repairs

• will you bring common replacement parts and if not how long will ordering take

• do you provide a written quote before proceeding with major repairs and accept payment plans

• what warranty do you offer on parts and labour and how is it documented

• how will you handle contaminated or spoiled food and do you use PPE when needed

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear access around the fridge and remove food from affected compartments

• check parking and access for an engineer van if large parts may be needed

• have the appliance model and serial number to hand and note any error codes or lights

• tell the engineer about building constraints (flats, lifts, narrow corridors) before booking

• arrange pets to be secured and ensure mains power to the appliance is accessible
