Scope of Works

• inspect and test machine functions, electrical isolation and grinder operation

• backflush and clean group head, screen and shower plate

• descale boiler and accessible water circuits where required

• replace worn seals, gaskets and group head parts as needed and fit new water filters if supplied

• service steam wand and valves, clean tips and check steam performance

• calibrate brew pressure and temperature and test extraction with sample shots

Most domestic single-group services take 45 minutes–2 hours. Full overhauls or commercial multi-group machines commonly take 2–4 hours. time can be extended by heavy scale build-up, seized components, waiting for replacement parts or restricted access. engineers will use PPE and contain coffee/chemical residues during work

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you service my brand and model and are you authorised by the manufacturer

• what does the standard service include and what is charged as an extra

• are replacement parts genuine and what warranty covers parts and labour

• will you provide a written estimate for additional repairs and photographic evidence of faults

• do you test and record brew temperature and pressure after service

• what are typical parts lead times and will you leave the machine safe if parts are needed

How to Avoid Surprises

• send make, model and a brief service history before the visit

• ensure clear access to the machine, grinder, water and electrical supplies

• arrange nearby parking or loading bay access for commercial premises

• empty portafilters and hopper and clear surrounding surfaces of crockery

• expect parts lead times; agree a call-off or temporary safe isolation if new parts are required
