Scope of Works

• Inspect door seal and drum for damage, mould and compatibility with the replacement gasket

• isolate power and water supply before disassembly

• remove door or front panel as required and release retaining clamp to extract the old gasket

• clean the drum lip and seating, handle mould as contamination and use PPE

• fit new OEM or compatible gasket, secure clamp and check alignment

• reconnect services, run a short wash to test for leaks and advise on ongoing care

Typical duration 45 minutes–2 hours depending on access and how quickly a matching gasket is available; heavily moulded seals, integrated or stacked machines and corrosion can extend the visit. Tradies will use basic PPE and isolate services before work

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• do you supply the gasket and will it be an OEM or compatible part?

• what guarantee do you give on the gasket and your workmanship?

• have you worked on this make/model before and can you match the part number?

• will you isolate water and electricity and perform a leak test after fitting?

• what are the call‑out charge, hourly rate and estimated total for my job?

• if extra parts or access work are needed how will you charge and how long to source parts?

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear access around the machine and remove laundry and detergents

• have the machine model and part number or photos to hand

• check parking or access restrictions and tell the trader about stairs or narrow doorways

• mention if the machine is stacked, integrated or in a tight alcove as extra time or parts may be needed

• inform the tradie of mould, heavy contamination or insurance requirements so they bring PPE and disposal supplies
