Scope of Works

• Run diagnostic checks and read error codes where the dishwasher supports them

• Inspect and test electrical supply, door switch and control panel for faults

• Remove and clean filter, spray arms and sump and check for blockages

• Inspect drain hose, pump and inlet valve; repair or replace faulty components where needed

• Run a test cycle to confirm fault and check for leaks and noise issues

• Replace minor parts (filters, seals, hoses, pumps) if covered by visit and advise if full appliance replacement is more economical

• Work with power and water isolated by the tradesperson and use PPE to control water and contamination risks

Most diagnostics and minor repairs take 30–90 minutes; replacing a pump, inlet valve or control board and re-testing can take 1–3 hours. Longer times occur when the appliance is hard to access, the fault is intermittent, or parts must be ordered

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• What is your call-out/diagnosis fee and is it deducted from the repair cost?

• Do you carry common parts for my make/model and can you replace them on the first visit?

• What warranty do you offer on parts and labour for this repair?

• If you can’t fix it on the day, what are the next steps and likely additional costs?

• Will you test the appliance after repair and check for leaks and safe electrical connections?

• Do you provide disposal of replaced parts or the old appliance and is there a charge?

How to Avoid Surprises

• Send model number and photos of the dishwasher, surrounding units and under-sink plumbing before the visit

• Clear access to the appliance and a clear working space nearby for parts and tools

• Provide parking details and block or permit numbers for flats so the tradesperson can arrive on time

• Keep pets secured and ensure water and electricity isolation points are accessible to the tradesperson

• Ask the tradie to confirm if special parts need ordering and approximate lead time to avoid repeat visits
