Scope of Works

• inspect the door, hinge and lock mechanism to establish the fault

• isolate the appliance electrically before working on the interlock or wiring

• remove and test the lock/micro‑switch and replace worn or broken parts

• fit a new door seal or full door assembly if required and re‑align the door

• test the door lock through a short cycle and check for leaks or error codes

• remove and responsibly dispose of faulty parts and advise on warranty or further work

Most door latch or seal repairs take 45–90 minutes on site; replacing a full door assembly or working with restricted access can take 1.5–3 hours

Questions to Ask Your Tradie

• have you worked on this make and model before and can you provide a photo of a similar repair

• what is your call‑out charge and how long will you spend before charging additional time

• do you use genuine manufacturer parts and what warranty do you offer on parts and labour

• will you isolate the appliance electrically and check hoses for water contamination or mould

• how long for any ordered parts and are there extra call‑backs or labour charges if parts arrive later

How to Avoid Surprises

• clear the area around the machine and remove laundry and fragile items

• have the make, model and serial number to hand and send photos of the door and error codes if possible

• ensure rear access or removal space if the machine is under a worktop or in an alcove

• confirm parking or loading space close to the property for the engineer

• tell the trader about leaks, mould, pets or communal access rules before the visit
